“Sanity huh? I was starting to think you were running out of that.” Wrex chuckled, he knew Shepard always put her missions before herself, but knowing she was looking to relax actually relieved him. He did endorse a good fight, but a warrior couldn’t fight if he didn’t take care of himself, or herself. “But sure Shepard, if you want to spend your down time perfecting your headbutting technique, I won’t say no to helping.” Plus he would have a good excuse as to why he didn’t exactly get much work done today.
She smiled slightly. “Well, look at it this way: everyone knows you served with me, so if ever there comes a time when I need to give some sod a proper headbutting, you never have to worry that my lack of experience will reflect poorly on you.” She grinned and blinked eyelashes at the krogan, which she knew would only make him shake his head at her. “I’m just saying that this way you won’t have the need to defend your reputation in the headbutting community, as it were.”

“Shouldn’t you worry about more important things Shepard? Headbutting people isn’t really a priority.” Wrex was highly amused by Shepard’s desire to learn, but he wasn’t going to say no. “ But if you really want to know, the trick is to frown when you do it.” Though many would be frowning before headbutting another, it was key to a successful headbutt.
"Well I don’t plan to smile at them, that would just be creepy.“ She gave her friend a disapproving look. "I think my priorities are just fine, thanks. We’re not losing any ground by taking a minute for ourselves every now and then. It’s actually important to maintain one’s sanity, don’t you think?” Even someone as battle hardened as Wrex had to understand the importance of getting right in the head, of letting off some steam, and of letting yourself smile every once in a while.

Wrex chuckled loudly at Shepard’s question, even though it was against her request. “Planning on headbutting someone soon?” He asked as his laughter dies down. “Because if you really want to know I can tell you how to do it so it hurts them and not you.”
Shepard pouted at the krogan for a moment, but his laughter was infectious and she found herself smiling despite his clear disregard for the commander’s request. “Come on Wrex, I’m being serious. One day I’m going to headbutt someone and when I do, I’d like to be secure in the knowledge that I’m headbutting them properly. Besides, how would it reflect on you if I couldn’t manage even the mildest of concussions? On my opponent, of course. I’d prefer to avoid my own concussion, to be clear."

"Now, this is a completely serious question, so don’t laugh at me. But–“ Shepard pauses to squint at the krogran, making sure he’s listening. "Is there some kind of special technique to headbutting someone, or do krogans just free ball it and let your forehead strike where it may? I only ask out of deference to Chakwas."
